Disinfection Instructions for Patient Positioning Devices
Date:2021-06-04

To protect medical staff and patients undergoing radiotherapy from the COVID-19 pandemic, we must take measures with proper personal protection as well as daily disinfection for workplace and facilities. Here are some suggestions how we can disinfect the positioning devices well.

PART I     DISINFECTION FOR MASKS, VAC BAGS AND ACCUCUSHIONS

Method 1:  Clean with 2000mg/L Chlorine-containing Disinfectant.

Spray the disinfectant on the device surface, then wipe it clean.  For visible contaminants, clean them with disposable wipes before routine disinfection.

Disinfect the devices before and after each treatment.

Method 2: With the use of 75% alcohol.

Wipe the device surface using towel with alcohol. Disinfect the devices before and after each treatment.

DONOT directly spray alcohol to the device for safety consideration.

It becomes more crucial to AVOID the multi-patient use of masks, vacuum bags and Accucushions during the pandemic.
